I bought these after my Fios system had to be upgraded and my previous cams weren’t compatible with the new 5Ghz router. I could have possibly made them work, but not without having the whole system slowed to 2Ghz. These cameras were $20 less than the ones I had that I used with my Apple HomeKit. Which these aren’t set up to work with. They do run on their own app which works just fine, so it doesn’t really make a difference to me that I open that app instead of the HomeKit app. Of the 4 cameras I have, I put SD cards in the two that are security oriented, the cameras are easy to setup and install, though I’d like the setup documentation to better explain the icons in the app which aren’t really obvious what they all mean and there is only a quick setup booklet not a user manual with them. ( you can find the info online ). The image quality on these is excellent and their user selectable smart tracking parameters make their tracking just as good. The cameras have voice prompts for setting them up which are clear. While the quick setup booklet starts you off connecting with Ethernet, if you are using Wi-Fi, you only need to be at s place with a good Wi-Fi signal. No connection via Ethernet is needed, so go with the voice prompts. Of course if you are going to connect via Ethernet, setup is pretty automatic since you don’t need to worry about passwords being directly connected. Weatherproof fittings keeps things protected for outdoor use. Mounting isn’t difficult, but think about your locations and be sure they can accept screws. They provide drywall anchors, and I used some masonry anchors for a location that required fastening to bricks. These cameras are not small, so they need to be mounted properly. They work great, and I’ll get more if I need them.

I already had some older Reolink indoor cameras so decided to add an outdoor camera during the Prime Day sale, and it was worth the price. Setup was easy, installation was easy, auto tracking and two way communication was decent, and it’s loaded with extra features. I don’t know which impressed me more, the image quality or movement speed.

The sample images I included speak for themselves, showing the wide angle to maximum zoom, IR night vision, and night color video with the spotlights (they are brighter than their size would let on!). We are use to the slow pan and tilt of the older indoor models we have. The pan and tilt speed on this one is adjustable for slow fine tuning but boy can it scoot! When moving between set points, it’ll move at full speed and is near instantaneous. Audio cuts out for a few seconds during movement, but that’s better than hearing the internal motors like on the other models.

This camera is also beefy. I expected it to be lightweight similar to the indoor cameras, but it has a lot of weight to it. It all feels solid with no rattling or lose fitting parts. Even the SD card cover screws were quite secure from the factory. I had to use a cordless drill to get them loose enough to work with a regular screwdriver.

The only big complaint I have about this is the power cord. It has just a barrel plug that connects the standard adaptor cable to the leader from the camera. 1) This really needs to be a solid connection from wall plug to camera to prevent someone from disconnecting it and killing the camera. 2) The standard length is too short. Yes they give you a long extension, but that doubles up the first issue of now potentially two unsecured connections. Ideally this should either be a hardline single connection from camera to wall plug, or at the very least make the hardline leader much longer to make it to a secured spot, like through a wall opening, before terminating to the barrel plug. Another option for those wanting a short leader would be to make it interchangeable where it plugs in inside the housing. That would allow either length option to be used.

Another minor issue is they use visible red LED’s for IR vision. It’s not as many as some of their other cameras, which is a plus, but still a visible indicator of a camera being in use even when trying to tuck it away out of obvious sight. I would much rather it have true IR emitters not visible to the naked eye. I know those can still be picked up by something like a smartphone camera, but many bad actors still aren’t thinking of stuff like that. I can understand wanting a visual deterrent, but the camera already has a siren and spotlights that will serve that purpose for those that want them, plus a security sticker if you want to place it on your location.

If it wasn’t for the power cord and IR emitter issues, this would be a solid 5 stars for the price. I was able to compensate for the power cord issue somewhat and don’t regret the purchase. I guess now the main concern is how it handles the weather long term, but I have it under an awning just so I’m not pushing my luck too much.

Replaced all of my Amcrest wifi cameras with these. 5ghz, PTZ, human, pet and vehicle tracking, micro sd storage option, spotlight, 2 way audio, customizable sound/siren and fast setup. HD video is crisp. Wide angle + optical zoom lens, camera can just about see directly behind itself when mounted properly. Camera is fairly heavy so give some thought into what material you’re mounting to and if it will be able to continuously support it’s weight over time and inclement weather. I mounted the cam to a 2″ thick block of wood, then secured the block to a pole with lag screws. Ir leds/night vision is strong and the color-night mode is pretty decent, especially if there’s another faint light source nearby. Android app works flawlessly over wifi and cellular. Motion alerts are easy to access and filter, and the timeline is straightforward. Best 5ghz wifi camera I’ve tested.

Great camera. The ability to pan 360 means one camera gets a lot of area and the spotlight can get very bright if needed and light up a large area too. I don’t recommend leaving the spotlight on it attracts bugs. Its very effective on the sensor setting where the light comes at when the camera detects movement. I love the tracking feature that follows everyone straight to the front door from the driveway. This camera also records sound really well with a good clear picture. The presets help speed up checking out the yard pretty easy and setup was super easy too. The one downside is time lag when looking at it with a cell signal as opposed to the dedicated Wi-Fi. Depending it can take a minute to connect with the camera. Overall a very good security camera with very good customer service and I will be buying a few more soon.
