As a strapping individual weighing in at 275 pounds and towering at 6’1″, I’ve had my fair share of gaming chairs bite the dust under my frame. However, the Big and Tall 400lbs Office Chair has proven to be an absolute game-changer. This isn’t just a chair, it’s a throne, and one that matches the best on-site office furniture I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting in.

As a programmer analyst, my work requires me to remain seated for a good 10-12 hours daily. One might expect discomfort or back pains after such long hours, but this chair has provided me with unparalleled comfort throughout the day. It’s as if I am riding in a luxury Lincoln limo – the materials used are top-tier and exude quality.

Aesthetically, it doesn’t quite mimic the gaming chair it replaced. But function over form, I say, especially as it stands ready for my co-pilot when she’s on board. The comfort and durability this chair offers far outweigh the aesthetics of a conventional gaming chair.

As a resident of a home with tile floors, I’ve experienced the bane of typical chair castors that would constantly snag on the interfaces between the tiles. Disengaging from a lengthy gaming or work session was a struggle – the wheels would essentially lock, leading to a frustrating tug-of-war with my desk. However, these wheels have completely transformed my mobility experience.

These smooth-gliding inline skate wheels allow me to effortlessly roam around my workspace, providing a level of satisfaction and ease that I hadn’t experienced before. While the idea of taking this chair for a ride down a trail is tempting (and would certainly make for a great YouTube short), the chair is simply too precious for such adventures.

Another worthy mention is the chair’s assembly process, which was notably straightforward and hassle-free. I’m not one to scrutinize for any minor nicks or scratches, but I was thoroughly impressed by the meticulous packaging. It was both perfect for protecting the chair and easy to unpack. This attention to detail extends to the design and construction of the chair itself, indicating that this model is the result of a highly refined and thoughtful design process. The assembly was a breeze, and the overall construction reflects a carefully engineered product. This chair truly epitomizes the fusion of robust design and superior comfort.

Everything about this chair screams “worth it.” If you’re a larger individual who spends long hours seated at a desk, I can’t recommend the Big and Tall 400lbs Office Chair enough. It’s a heavy-duty, high-comfort solution to the woes of underwhelming and underperforming office chairs. A five-star purchase, indeed.

Everyone who sits in this chair likes it including me. Nice frim padding but not too frim. Chair will glide across the floor. Very nice Chair. Would buy again

I purchased the Big and Tall 400lbs Office Chair, because my last two executive office chairs both developed a lean to the right, after a few years of using them. It would appear I do not sit evenly. I am a little under 6′ tall and not even close to 300lbs, but when I saw this chair advertised at 400lbs, I thought I would try it out, assuming it would be made of sterner stuff. It is.

The base of the chair, the part the five wheels attach to, is thick metal and has the weight of metal. The seat and back of the chair are stouter and heavier than the average executive office chairs I had purchased in the past. The padding under the fabric is not as soft or airy as my previous chairs, but it is comfortable enough. I suspect it is because the padding material used was for a heavier person. In comparison, the seat padding in my last chair was very comfortable in the beginning, but because it was not very dense, it eventually quit resisting and it felt like I was sitting on a piece of plywood after a few hours. I do not think the padding in this chair is going to give up so easily.

The wheels. The inline skating wheels. They have so little friction that I am still getting used to how easy the chair moves around on solid surfaces. This chair also comes with the standard caster wheels so the user can choose which they prefer. After using caster wheels for decades, I am sticking with the skating wheels.

The chair advertises it is for big and tall people. The seat of the chair does protrude further than my last two chairs. In those chairs I was able to rest the heels of my feet on the base of the chair. I cannot do that with this chair. The seat sticks out just far enough that the base is covered by the seat. That is not a bad thing. My feet still firmly sit flat on the floor, but due to the seat being larger, my lower legs cannot angle back to rest my feet on the base. Instead my knee and lower leg are closer to a 90 degree angle, pointing straight down. It almost feels like I am sitting a little more properly.

The tilt of the chair is less than I am used to. When shopping for a new executive type office chair I noticed there were some chairs that could tilt back 135 degrees and some that tilt back 110 degrees. I do not have the tools to measure angles, but I would guess that my old chairs tilted back to 135 and this tilts back to 110. If I took naps in this chair that would be bad, but for just tilting back to rest my eyes, or think something through, this lesser tilt is sufficient.

Lower back adjustment. This chair has a turning knob that pushes the lower back support out more. I have had chairs before that had this and I never used it, because it did not seem to do anything. This chair does something. I did adjust the lower back to push out more and it does feel better for it. I suspect that is because the seat of this chair is larger than normal and sitting all the way to the back interferes with where the back of my knees touch the front of seat. This adjustment aligns me better with the chair.

Assembly. If you have ever had to put together an office chair, or piece of furniture, that came with great instructions, very clear identification of the bits and pieces, engineered to be put together with the fewest connections possible, and includes the only tool you need, and it was a breeze, well this is that type of assembly. Everything lined up exactly. The pieces are heavier than normal, but if they were not, then it would not really be able to handle greater weights than the normal chairs. I know transport can damage even the best products, but the packaging for this chair was solid. The odds of transport damage is lower for it.

Rating. This chair is worth the price I paid and meets or exceeds my expectations. That makes it 5 out of 5. For the same price as many normal executive office chairs I got one that I can touch and see is much stouter. This chair does not rely on heavy plastics or questionable design. It just straight up uses steel to make it sturdier.

I’m six foot tall and an average build weighing in at 190 Lbs. (sorry, no metric conversions) The chair supports me easily and is very comfortable. If fact, it’s too wide. I could do with the chair being 2” narrower in the seat/arms. The caster base is super rugged and all major parts are metal which is great- no squeaks like iv’e found with the plastic counterparts. I’ve found the chair too deep so i have to use extra pillow behind my back to give proper support.
Dislikes. The polyurethane wheels are too tall to work right. They make the chair sit too high and thus my knees ache if i use them. Non- adjustable arm rests. Non-adjustable back (not the lumber but the back). Chair is too deep.
Likes. Adjustable lumbar, high quality metal base, Think comfortable padding, high quality leather.

Had mine a couple months, I like to lean back in the chair, well the bolts snapped off inside and now I can’t get them out. Next step is to try a drill and bit remover. Just frustrating because of the price.

What started a work-at-home chair has become an all the time chair. Fairly Easy to assemble and very comfy because of high back and relax – put my feet up on an ottoman and relax afterwork 🙂 – just wish it had adjustable arms to put up and down…depending on mood…Recommend buying this just the same.

Thanks for your honesty and willingness to resolve the issue. A part of the chair was defective, during the shipping process. This seller was able to resolve the issue amicably.
