    Some people seem to miss that this camera requires the additional purchase of an SD card. The one I bought is 128GB, U3, Class 10, V60 and it works well. Files can be transferred to a computer via the USB port.
    When starting out, make sure the camera battery is FULLY charged. The power button on the remote will not work initially until the first full charge. Thereafter, it works regardless the battery level. I could find no instruction for attaching the hood. I figured out how to put it together and attach it by looking at buyers’ and reviewers’ images – and still had a part left over!
    I agree with another reviewer that the input ports are awkward. They would be better on the other side of the camera so as to not interfere with closing the screen.
    Video: most of the default settings work for me except a couple. I use softbox studio lighting and my best setting for White Balance is Fluorescent and for Exposure is -3. I’m getting good output true to color with clear image.
    Audio: using the included external microphone, 0db is best for my indoor voice but the volume is pretty low. Turning it up to 100% while replaying on my computer revealed an underlying hiss. I ran it through editing software with volume boost and noise reduction and it turned out well. However, using my lavalier microphone was far better – no fiddling needed.
    So, although I’m disappointed with the microphone, and question how well it would work outdoors, the fact that this 4K camcorder has an external microphone jack for my own lavalier and that its overall function is good are reasons enough to keep it.

    For the money, you get a lot with this camera. The night vision is great. The mic works good. Battery life is good. This is a fun camera to play with, do some night shooting in IR, and maybe find a ghost or two. It’s decent quality for the price. Also works great as a webcam on a Mac with no issues. If you want something to have fun with, and aren’t going to use it 10 times a week, it’s a good deal.

    I can recommend this camera , excellent for outdoor memories if there is plenty of light and you don’t want to drain your phone’s battery. It’s also fantastic for your kids if they are looking into becoming filmmakers. For any of these scenarios, it’s well worth the money.

    I was also impressed with everything you get in the box.
    Aside from the handle and lens hood, you get 2 batteries, a remote control, hdmi cable and charger for the batteries. It even has a battery powered microphone for better sound.

    The video quality is great, i was very surprised.

    Having that said, this can be a great tool for beginners that want to experiment with filmmaking.
    The camera is very easy to setup and use. The battery life is quite good, excellent if you factor in the second battery.

    The lens have fixed focus, this results in the entire image being in focus and this helps amateurs when recording video or taking photos. On the flipside, it won’t give you video with blurry backgrounds, in case that’s something you’re into. But then again, you’ll need to spend a lot of money on a device that can yield that kind of video quality.

    Another interesting feature about this camera is that it can be used as a webcam, and it’s pretty good at it too. The only downside to using it this way is that it is much bigger than an ordinary webcam, so mounting it on top of your monitor is probably not an option. You also need to have the screen open because the USB cable plugs on the side where the screen is and cannot be accessed with the screen closed.

    LOVED this for the first few days we had it. Bought it so a friend could video my wedding and I’d do theirs in return. FIrst use for practice went great. Then my wedding. Took great video on playback, but when we went to upload the footage the picture and screen went black and blank on the camera and were never able to get the camera to turn on again. I’ve order an SD card reader in the hopes of salvaging the only video of my wedding. However, the camera is apparently a total waste. And try as I might I can’t find a phone number or anything anywhere in the instructions or on the amazon page to try and contact their customer support or anything.

    I don’t use a camera but my phone whereas my husband films an online show, having just finished his 13th season. We both used the camera, so I could report as both novice and semi professional views. I unboxed the camera and put the battery in, etc. I found the camera easy to use but slightly complicated to understand what setting you needed for what. Once I understood the basics I was able to use it with ease. My husband gave me a few tips when I didn’t understand something. I only looked at the manual a few times. My husband used it to try and film his show alongside his regular camera but for some reason it didn’t take. Idk if it was a card issue or user error. The quality of video and audio is acceptable. We had a few instances where the filming seemed to glitch but could have been user error. I need more time playing with it I think. However, I think it’s a great starter camera for the price.

    I purchased this camera to take some 4K video. I was not expecting top notch quality, but it was not even usable. I was recording in 4K mode and using an SD card that met their recommended requirements. After my video shoot, I went to edit the footage and saw that the first few seconds of the footage was fine and would then freeze. Eventually, the footage would try to advance, but would do so only in a haphazard, slow way. The footage would then freeze. This same thing happened on al 4 of my clips. I then went into the settings to try and change some things and the camera powered off and would not turn on again. I put a new, fully charged battery in and the camera would not power on. So, after one use of the camera I got 4 unusable clips and a camera that will not turn on. I have returned the camera to Amazon and am awaiting a refund. I do not recommend this camera at all.
